Would you like to motivate your students as they prepare for the Abitur exams or perhaps encourage them to study a STEM subject? If so, we would like to support you in your endeavors and help your students overcome the imaginary hurdles they see in choosing to study a demanding STEM subject and help them to get off to a successful start!

MINTFIT Hamburg is happy to come to your school to do this, and it’s free of charge. We work to continually develop our offerings and test new features, but we also want to have personal contact with students in schools.

Our school visits usually go beyond simply explaining how to use the tests. We do want to encourage students to test and develop their skills in math, physics, chemistry, and computer science so that it is easier for them to study a subject in the natural sciences. However, we were all in school and first-year students at university ourselves and are familiar with many of the typical problems. As such, we can also tell your students about what it’s like to study a STEM subject and what some possible careers are that they might aim for.

We’ll show students how to use the MINTFIT online tests, talk about the advantages the tests have, and answer questions regarding the many MINTFIT blended learning offerings they have access to. The offerings include the free online test with an automatic assessment and individual learning recommendations as well as additional e-learning materials. Taken together, our offerings are quite comprehensive and alongside instruction at school are an ideal way to prepare for the demands of a STEM degree program.

The following requirements must be fulfilled for a school visit:

• For our visit, we need a time block of between 1 and 2 school periods (i.e., 45–90 minutes). In one period, we can introduce students to the math test for grades 8–10. For students in their final two or three years (Oberstufe), we plan for a double period so that we can cover all of our offerings for tests in math, physics, chemistry, and computer science.
• A computer lab with a PC workstation for each student (or teams of two) must be available.
